Exterior divisions with dark markings on edges
very noticeable in bud. The one I flowers has
7 perfect divisions and ovary is stigma 4-lobed?
Culturs to outside. Plants thought to be seedlings
had 1 filament of only 10 30cm.
3-8-32 Veronica arvensis L.
Flowering young &. At handloom place (pubescent) and
field above lakea. Annual also 2-4cm, hairy via
many spec hairs tending towards 2 lines. Lower lw
of apper alt. never more than 5mm long, very
distinct pedicel, upper ones sessile. Corolla 2mm
high & only about 1/2 as long as the longest of the con-
siderably unequal calyx lobes. Corolla white
(ironed once bleached blue & 3mm high). Pedicels
much shorter than 4p when flowering, but thought
to become longer afterwards. Sepals olong with
with the long spreading pubescence mostly gland
-tipped. Style (2 & H) 1/2 mm long. Ovary glabrous on
sides but def. almost hairy on edge. (These crossed
out applied to a plant which may perhaps have been V. agrestis?
(which only a part collected). Note Br#349 says corolla
"or nearly white".
