St very pale green v(20x) covered with yellow scales but no tomenty. Ls to 35X10mm. Sometimes there is slight indication of a tiny linear n tepd? 9-12-32 Arselia hypogeal B.Mq C.P394. Sts of fl Cult field bet. Puerto Alcedia. Sterile flo plentiful & also the "strut recurring stypes" ? fertile flo but no fertile flo as yet developed. 9-12-32 Sorghum vulgare Pers [Sie Kn I 47] Costa #558, Bon, 353 = Holcus Sorghum L. B.Mq CP/105. Zumaputz. Stray in field of maize in Albufera Alcedia. De fls the coriaceous glumes are almost black but greenish at tip &in long hairs esp on mid-rip. Lemma thin & fragile with twisted awn that protrudes as long again as glumes (awn tips missing or broken). Duff & in long, heavy stiles coloring almost black. Of the sterile flo standing now left but a few which look like empty glumes. Rachis v branches pubescent. Lvs (upper part of plant) to 2in wide, tapering to very
