J.5x4cm. 755 ? 6-3-32 Salixium rubrum L. var. balcaricum Kn II 420, IV Tab IX. Fl. young fr. Pieg Koo-Veye gorge. Sto very slender, branching at base almost amplexicaurs, smooth adaxial to 1/2 vertical; in 1/3 much smaller than internodes except near base of st. Lvs in middle just 5x1mm lance- olate; two near base 3x14mm obl. Upper lvs min- utely but deft(20%) pub above & roughened mid-vein. ponting bristle edges. Lowest lvs seen foliaceous & smooth. All lvs red beneath except for the broad green mid-sit in at least some upper lvs. Dull concrete yellow lateral branches. Glen slanted than internodes bearing a few fls (rather like Coatesill 1675 more simplified). Corolla sp. wine-red or a little lighter above, opens wide 2mm (on a side), lobes being 1/4 as high. Lobes acute with tips involute (not aristate). Ovaries smooth Deedes. & S. coraicum Spreng Bar 221 (desc may be Crespi's plant this name wrong) See too. Antrum L. Coates II 249, Box 140.
