Transcription

linear bracts subtending branches of the inf. This
is plant whose rootlets (lv. seen frequently in the
mountains this spring (in book 5-9-32). Margin
full flow and side (road directs blue) today but very
few in fl. blue-Pollensa.

A. Thapsae. 10-12 in high. Lower lvs narrowed at base
r petiold, upper lvs sessile, cordate clasping all
felfy with starry pub esp. beneath. Fls in spikes
corolla 9mm hgh
single axis to. Fls not more than 1.5cm across
(Cote says V. B - 3 cm), practically sessile. Stamens
5 the 2 longer and wider hairs at base only and
anthers oblique (Cote) the others with filaments
densely covered with glandular, red hairs and
anthers (pub) not oblique. Oldst pod more 1cm
high, longer than calyx, becoming glabrous &
shining. Note: only desc. available are V. Boer-
havi L. Cote II 6220 V. Portae Willk. Ill. CXXIV.
