5-13-32 Trifolium lappaceum L. Ruth 81, Bar 133, Br
79, Cote #1 353 FL Field lot Estab v Sm with Vicia
Eriniae. St erect & twiggy with many ascending
branches & scattered sparsely but obviously hairs
(hairs spreading). L ft of long broad leaves. Stems
"divarigues" (Cote) in terms of Calothy (ie almost at 90
degrees). Lower lv (normally fallen) with petioles
1/4 cm (Bar say long). Upper lv become almost acial.
Stipules of lower lv narrow (base almost parallel sided)
with reddish veins on rather greenish background;
th free part narrowly earl-shaped, 5mm long. Stipules
of uppermost lv (just under head) broader bluntly
pointed. Heads terminal on ends of branches, looking
sessile v with peduncle for only about 2mm (This is
contrary to ill (Cote). Heads about 13 mm high & than
somewhat "lierissies" but not as much as ill
(Cote). Flow white. Corolla 6mm long. Calyx tube quite
glabrous outside with many fine nerves (p23
50), the equal teeth finely tubulate, with long
spreading hairs. Three nerves along plainly at
base (jobs the other 2 are at edged). Calyx with
hairy ring at top of tube inside. Corolla about
as long as calyx v when corolla is muttering
the two look much like ill (Cote). As far as
can be judged war calyx throat will be open at
maturity. Head looks as sessile as Cote's ill
