670 5-13-32 Trifolium lappaceum L. Ruth 81, Bar 133, Br 79, Cote #1 353 FL Field lot Estab v Sm with Vicia Eriniae. St erect & twiggy with many ascending branches & scattered sparsely but obviously hairs (hairs spreading). L ft of long broad leaves. Stems "divarigues" (Cote) in terms of Calothy (ie almost at 90 degrees). Lower lv (normally fallen) with petioles 1/4 cm (Bar say long). Upper lv become almost acial. Stipules of lower lv narrow (base almost parallel sided) with reddish veins on rather greenish background; th free part narrowly earl-shaped, 5mm long. Stipules of uppermost lv (just under head) broader bluntly pointed. Heads terminal on ends of branches, looking sessile v with peduncle for only about 2mm (This is contrary to ill (Cote). Heads about 13 mm high & than somewhat "lierissies" but not as much as ill (Cote). Flow white. Corolla 6mm long. Calyx tube quite glabrous outside with many fine nerves (p23 50), the equal teeth finely tubulate, with long spreading hairs. Three nerves along plainly at base (jobs the other 2 are at edged). Calyx with hairy ring at top of tube inside. Corolla about as long as calyx v when corolla is muttering the two look much like ill (Cote). As far as can be judged war calyx throat will be open at maturity. Head looks as sessile as Cote's ill
