Bes # 554 = Vulpia scirroides Amel Cate III 630 Pl Bellver Slender to 5½ in, with if not quite to base frigl. 1vs flat 17 mm wide. Infl 5cm narrow. Sts mostly all finely puberulent. Plicels slender 1-3mm. 1st glume almost setaceous 1½ mm, 2nd glume broad 4mm long, scabrous on beak sharp pointed (or might be said to have awn of ⅛ gr) fully as long (or longer) than adjacent lemma. Lemma 2½ mm with awn equal length. Lemma awn placed below apex which is sharp & por 2-toothed. Lemma narrow. Polea short ½ as long. Fl 2-3. Stamens seen in most fls 2, but in one case 3. As plant dries the fls tend to stand apart as ill (Cate for V. geniculata. Anthers not ⅓ mm long. Ligule not "presque nulle" (Cate)
