Lvs slining both sides, oft 5, simply toothed,
rather narrow. Fr in 2-4, peduncles gland.
pub. Fr bright red, 3/8 in diam, almost smooth
(this with signs of gland-pub. Calyx lobes fallen
St armed with recurved thorns.

below, making head look very short peduncled.
This branching often many times repeated,
the ends of the branches appearing congested
Tails, anthus not nearly as definite & long as in
? Inula viscosa Ait 10-15-30. Disc fls seem
to have a thick almost coriaceous tube well
narrowing on one side, same in ray fls but
less pronounced.
