1-29-31 leaves very button-like with nerved bracts tightly folded towards center. 1-30-31 Paronychia argentea Lamk (see 2-4 v 3-17-30) Costa II/105. Early H. Water course by Palma west wall. Oblong leaves very short. 1-30-31 ?? Echinium creticum L forme plantagineum (see 3-26-30) = E. plantagineum L. Costa II 599 Basal rosette leaves only. Water course just west of Instituto. Leaves forming very regular rosette. Blades ovate ± 3 x ± 2 in, rounded or very obtuse at apex, valmost rounded at base, mid rib about 4 pairs lateral nerves prominent beneath. Petioles outside leaves long. Outside leaves almost as rough as those of E. italicum 1-30-31 Echinium italicum L (see 10-26 v 12-10-30) Costa II 599. Dead infl v young leav. Of with above. Note that leaves are not in an def. a rosette & that the secondary nerves are visible they are not thick & prominent as in above (see Costa to contrary) Leaves narrowed to short petiole, quite dif. from above.
