rooted tuft. Ligule 7 mm long, thin membranaceous.
Spikelt 6mm long. Lemma very coriaceous, dark
brown shining 4 mm long, the 5 nerves showing
only on inside. Palea similar. Awn of 3mm
sometimes very slightly exerted.
