St. hardly angled. lvs opp. lfts 3-7, the upper ones not always distinct, much darker green than abov. Fls in open clusters, single. Corolla 1in across, tube ½ in white, tube & outside of 2 favable red. Fragrant Corolla very blunt, lobes narrow calyx? linear not more than ½ in, sinuses wider than lobes. [See 6-2-34 for f. D] Ricinole L. 3-10-30. ? Mesembryanthemum cordifolium BM CPC 257. (See Ku I 51) Fl. Edging plant Infanta E Ls thicka, ovary 4-celled. Petals light rose purple. Styles 4. Fl. compressed ⅔ in memory ¼ in the other when closed on subcylindric circular ¾ in diam. Petals united at base. Stamens perhaps merge into petals. Capsule loculicidal 3-10-30 Ruscus Hypoglossum L. Bae 443, Box 302 (See BM CPC. Indere. f genus) & fls. Garden Infanta E. Cladodes not spine tipped as in P. aculeatus, but only 1 nerve clearly plainly in bract outstret- ing f cluster. A dark purple tube surrounds pistil (perhaps rep. stamen tube in f fls) Cladodes to 3½ x 1½ in form v at f but ft tenderling (i.e. curl downward from about middle, pedicels not twisted. Fl. bract definite to ½ in long. (See P aculeatus 4-20-30) See 4-10-30
