3-4-30 Lotus Creticus L Knth 97, Bar 131, Box 81 Fl on rocks above bay behind "Ambruster" at Puerto Androitx. Matted trailing at 42 ft, the lower half naked. Petioles 3+ mm long, stipules 9 mm long but quite rather than oval lanceolate, and oblique (see L. A llinii Def Bar = L creticus var cyprides Kn) The 2 lateral calyx lobes much shorter rounder than the others. Wings much longer than keel but not entirely covering it at base. Standard with edges rolled backward making it look narrow, lightly veined brownish. Central fl 10 mm long. A spotted type in same locality (no fls) seemed a miniature with central fl 5 mm in length (see 4-14-30 3-4-30 Coronilla Scorpioides Kth, Knth/56 Bar 148 = Scorpioides Matthioli Dod. Box 70 Fl Puerto Androitx field behind "Ambrusters". Exactly as ill Box 66. Ped- nucleus not quite as long as lovs. Upper lip 3 calyx longer than lower, slightly hooded notched (see 3-26-30 3-4-30 Lotus edulis L Knth 90 Bar 132, Box 81 Fl near above. Thickish taproot v remains? Runners (underground at. See Box) far & also new runners developing. Defuse Calyx with purple vein in each lobe v otherwise purple fringed.
