Bar 362, Box 174 highway west of Cas Catala. Flower
white or very pale rosy, Disfl. yellowish at top tube.
Rey fl large radiant with narrow, long divisions.
Stamens green-blue. Fr not advanced enough to
show cal. well. Receptacle with long white
hairs (But see Box 151 middle of page) (See 3-30-30,
4-5-30

With above. Thistle like plant with white spathelia
& purple fls. Stk 2½ ft broceling, ribbed, not at all
winged with deuncants, silvery green, areclined
at very top. Lower lvs large
sinuate lobed & rarely on margins, entirely smooth,
silvery green with broad white mid-rib. Broadly
marked with white around veins above (veins
white also beneath but the broad white blotches do
not show beneath). Upper lvs similar sessile
partly clasping with rounded very carebly lobes.
Heads solitary, heads with downward curving
bracts ½ in long. Tip prickly dentate at base & partly-
edentate at tip. Channelled point with yellow
thorn at tips. The innermost bracts without
spines colored purple at tips. Fls all the same abruptly
swollen to globular shape at top of tube where
