softly pubescent above, beneath gray glabrous
except on veins. Edges revolute.

fr. Pollen a west end of washed away bridge. Calyx
spiny & stellate pubescent. Corolla purpura 2/4 in
wide, stellate pubescent on back! Fr yellow, glabrous
about 1/4 in diam.

Woody st with branches in whorled 3. These gray
green, glabrous, articulated in seg 3/4-2 in long,
suggesting equisetum. Top of each segment thin
narrow, brown membrane which extends upward
in 2 low pts on opp sides, far'd. sheath of succeeding
seg. Branches seem inclined to bear opp. branch.

BM #C P 128 Fl. Fermentor. Flees die at its base. Calyx
is very short acumulated segmented at base. Crolla
about 4/4 as long also united at base (BM) C.P says.
