8 km stone) Pedicelled bulblets at base very evi-
dent. Per. segtzy with darker line down middle.
Leaves to 14 ins. Strong onion odor. Center of bulb

3-14-30) Several sts from top. Of black underground
st, v these essentially simple to 16 in high the
peduncle forming the upper half. At base each
peduncle a whorl of 3 lvs, strong cordate clasping
2½ x 1 in lobed at lvs except unlobed usually,
a 4th if shorter v much narrower. Fl heads 1¾ in
digh
broad, rays a very pale yellow,
some pointers are purple. Papaws downy.
