for the blue shales and the Richmondian. Williams states that the green shales beneath the Leptaena beds are here 18 feet thick and rest with sharp demar- cation upon the red shales of the Rich- mmdian. The Leptaena limestone here are about the same thickness as made out 5 miles south of Collingwood, that is about 11 feet. What follows over the Leptaena beds can no more be made out here than at Collingwood. In the basal Chignara magnesian limestone Williams saw crabs of several species but nothing that to him suggested Clinton. Left late in the afternoon for Colling- wood.
