"of Clinton age and compare with the Clinton of the Riojana zone. Medina, immediately beneath the Pentamerus Mongus bed there is a sudden change in lithology for one [illegible] fet of thin bedded green sandstone with green shale partings follows downward at the center fet one of Arthrophycus archimedes. Below this are 4 feet one of thin bedded sandstones and shale followed by [illegible] bedded gritted sandstones. The Medina therefore has a thickness here of 2x4 x10ft = 16-18 fet. The Arthrophycus beds are separated by 1 to 2 inches of green slate from the Pentamerus beds (have one specimen). Sent from Grimsby to Hamilton by telly at 2:40. Tally's on time for the 18 miles.
