Where does all the salt of the salt domes come from? No one knows, but the oil people seem inclined to think they are deep grey salt beds. If so what is their age? They seem inclined to think they are of Permian age. Hardly! Can it be that they are of Comanchia age, against old Llannia now sunken into the Gulf of Mexico? There appears little or regular or linear arrangement of the salt domes. When did they arise? No answer other than they are still forming, since they dome the former of geologic deposits.
