Col. A. E. Humphreys is the man of this world. Had lunch at Kaufman, and dinner at Tyrell. Drove back to dallas in the dark, and got to the hotel at 10 P. M. A very interesting day. Humphreys is from Denver, and has failed 2 or 3 times. An intense promoter. Has struck his natural fort at Mexico and expects to make millions that he will give for mining work. Was my sick a few years ago and around if he got well again that all the money he made he would give to miners.
