November 3, Monday, Homeward. Arrived on time at St. Louis, 7.07 A.M., the train having made up the lost time during the night. After arranging for train car travel and a breakfast at the depot started out to walk around St. Louis. The air is free of smokeburns on the air it affected my throat! Then via truly want not to see George Washington and Rust. At 12.02 I am off on the 'New Yorker', one of the best trains in America for New York City. The days clear and sunny and I see the plains of Illinois and Indiana. At 4 P.M. came at Terre Haute. The railroad is with its trucks.
