June 25 Boat could not get to Pomeroy and left us off at Point Pleasant. but a train about nine and I stayed over at Cheshire. In the afternoon looked up Carl (Carl Fleming [Coal mine]). Collected some goods and got wet to the skin. Left for Pomeroy about nine o'm. June 26 I spent all day in the Cogel branch collecting farm. Ed looked around days a week. Left for Springfield took about six o'clock on the river at Mason City. Slept at Stratford.
