Started out at 7:30 for Ruckers quarry over in Rose Co along Paint Creek.
The quarry show a face of limestone 8:35 ft covered by 10 ft of soil. The top layers of Limestone are all strata
in a N @ E S.E. direction.
The bottom layers of the quarry are very regular and admit of being easily quarried. They make blocks if pit for street work. Then follow layers with dense bands of Asphalturn in course of two in, up to 2 ft. One layer is rather porous and holds a great many depredation. Near the top occur about ten feet of very irreg
lar concretionary layers almost made
up of small concretional fragments.
This makes the best
