June 19 Started out at 6:30 for the small ravine that Mr. Dayler mentioned. Found it Tpe miagan shale at bottom, blue, then running into yellow shale and then yellow impure sandstone, holding a layer of blue crystalline limestone much in appearance as the Clinton holding a good many fossils, particular-ly al Pentamerus & [illegible]? There is another horizon holding fossil higher up all in chest and fairly preserved. In the afternoon Mr. Dayler showed me the best locality around Hillsboro - as I can't aid I could not see many fossils and it turned out Leptocrinus were the same ground that I had gone over in the mor-
