June 9. Called at University in the morning but found that Clinton was not well for a week. She had to go back carrying all the corniferous fossils we found and a great deal of Clinton material from Dayton, Took a train for Cleveland at 10:45 but upon reaching Berea and seeing that the train stopped there just after dropping a little time left before I could supper we took a stroll through the mine Berea quarry. The Cayahoga shales cover all the quail sometimes as much as 30 ft. At the base of these shales Lamyala and Glycemia are very abundant. Cut out a piece of these shales for my collection and then return to the hotel,
