Wea. SAT. MARCH 13, 1909 Ther. [illegible] A trip from here to the town of Redford was made for the purpose of seeing about the new home which I had purchased. It is a large house with a barn and outbuildings. The lot is very attractive and well wooded. There are two acres of land, with a fine view of the lake. The price paid was $1,200. I started out at 9 o'clock in the morning, and arrived there about noon. The house was not yet ready for occupancy, as the interior work had not been completed. However, I found that everything was in good order on the outside. The lawn was neatly mowed, and the flowers were just beginning to bloom. After touring around the property for a while, I decided to go back to the hotel for lunch. On my way back, I stopped at a nearby store to buy some groceries for dinner. The shopkeeper was very friendly and helpful. In the afternoon, I visited the local church, which is located about half a mile from the house. It is a small but well-kept building with a beautiful steeple. Inside, there were several families attending services. The organ music was pleasant, and the sermon seemed to be quite interesting. As evening approached, I returned to the hotel, where I had dinner and prepared for another day's activities. Tomorrow plans include exploring more of the surrounding area and perhaps visiting some friends who live nearby. Overall, it was a pleasant visit to Redford, and I am looking forward to settling into this new home soon.
