Have him state it for me in my paper. Late today we encountered the some strata in the S.E. side of the Fonda quarry. It is an incompetent thin redded carbonate-silicons ore and is greatly metamorphosed. All the shata have dip in the same direction and rather steep angles from 200- near 450. See the crinoid reef that lay over frond in the marble beds, also having a perfectly cysted plate. Can these beds be Chazy?
In the Fonda quarry Layne at first was not inclined to accept my view of the Challetberg metamorphism in the Phillipsburg series, but brought it due to normal faulting. Later he gave up his view and held it to be the plane of metamorphism on the eastern sequence, but that there also abnormal faults in connection with it. Get him to state the structure for my paper.
Laynell etc over n to Burlington at 5 P.M. I took a train home the next day and got to the house before 6 P.M.
