Thursday August 20 1932.
Wea. SAT. JULY 10, 1909 Ther.
It promises to be a hot day and as I am tired from yesterday remained at the hotel during the morning.
At a hot day but at 12:30 p. M. Jane & I in the Buses
further road for E of Pocledge. E. of the Brantum road about
the road level
on either side of the E-road
& on above one sees an amphitheater-like outcrop of Mallett
with much interbedded shelly sandy Parker-like Slate. Then
in higher genuine Parker slate some of which is badly
crumpled. Evidence this in another more thrust gone repeatedly
to the E, some of the older Mallett and all of the Parker slate.
To the north of the second house from the Brown farm quarried cliff of Parker slate dipping but little to the
E. Don't think another dol. one goes for 10'-20' thick.
Parkation in the Mallett below dol. is the Parkers.
This dol. and the older Parker slate shows the farmer has
mined brecciated
and shored blocks of various sizes into the slate. A fine
example yet just E. of the second house for us. Then more marked
Mallett dipping S.E. about 60°. Followed E. by more Parker
and a. then good 4 dol. Then a long stretch of Parker slate.
In line of strike S. of home at the corner road is the
Dowcentm conglomerate, here about 300' from the Shipp's gate
road. Here may be noted appears the contact between the
Highgate slate and the Dowcentm cgl.
