Friday August 12-1932 Wea. MON. MAY 17, 1909 Ther. A fine cool (rest) morning but I am so stiff and with [illegible] that is no thanks of my doing any gardening Today. Took a little walk in the morning and came back very tired. Then lay down and slept two hours. Read a little in Stillmans Life of J.Q. Dana. In the afternoon it showered and was generally dull. Then wrote a little on my paper on the girl of H.W.M. Sent Phil fifty dollars to help out in his general distress, then read considerable of J.Q. Dana and retired at 9 p.m.
