It is clear to me that the Primoratti are dry shallow water deposit well above wave base. The mottling is all due to oxy and loss of O2 in the sea bottom. See the sample taken very near the face of the Primoratti on the over- shot gage.
The Primoratti appear to be 200-300 feet thick.
