these limestones some distance evidently occurs the gyp- sum for sink-like topography is evident. Above the limestone occur the brick-red slabs as maybe seen along the road side to the south half way in to Brookfield. The last locality more probably represents the horizon of the Miller quarry near Windon, The Brookfield limestones disappointed me greatly for I expected a somewhat similar effect being found to that of Windon. He returned to Taupo a little before 8 P.M.
