Started into measure in detail the Windon section out
Dr. Jose E. Hyde. Began at the iron bridge over the Avon.
The section begins at the top of the eastern limb and goes down to center yard.
(1) At the bridge at low tide one sees considerable brick red
shales with streaks of green gneiss that measure 60 feet across the
strike. To all seem. These are the higher beds and we nearest the
bridge. Thickness to be calculated from the dip which is roughly
80° N.N.E. No fossils. Calculate thickness.
(2) Across the strike this gneiss is 3 feet of soft brecciated im-
fused dark greenish dolomite terminating below in 6 inches of dark-
blue-green shales. No fossils. Dip about 40°
(3) Brick-red shales with two or three thin zones of the same brecciated
rotten dolomite, in the lower half passing upwards into the
greenish flaggy beds of division (2). Measurement across the
strike about 31 feet. Dip 35° N.N.E.
(4) Thin bedded light green dolomitic limestones on that
frail; 9 foot across strike. Dip about 30°. Strike (N. 77° W.

(5) Ordovica praelii gneiss Ostracoda. Somewhat heavier
bedded dolomitic limestone that weathers light yellowish. This bed
is easily picked out from the flatty green beds above and the
down rotten dolomite. Actual thickness from 18 to 30 inches,
bedded
(6) Gneiss of yellowish very soft cavernous dolomite. The
small caverns were originally porous parts of fossils
