Hindson, Nova Scotia. July 2 - 1912 Started in to measure in detail the Hindson sec- tion. Began at the aragon bridge over the Arm. (1) At low tide one sees considerable brick-red shales and streaks of green gneiss that measure 60 feet across the strike. These are the highest beds and nearest the bridge. Thickness to be calculated from the dip to be ascertained later, by Frank. Rough dip 85 degrees. (2) Three feet of soft brecciated impure dark greenish dolomite terminating below in about 6 inches of [illegible] blue-green shales. No fossils. (3) Brick-red shales with thin zones of the same brecciated rotten dolomite, in the lower half jumping upwards into the greenish flaggy beds of division (4). Measurement across the strike about 31 feet. Dip 35 degrees N.N.E.
