Cade 1959 General Account 24 July Anaktuvuk to Sentinel Hill 1800 - stopped a few miles below Anaktuvuk to camp (#2) on left limit. 25 July Anaktuvuk to Sentinel Hill - rained rather heavily all last night. 1215 - departed camp #2. 2045 - made camp on the left limit, after a long day with many hawks. During the night high winds blew down the tent. The left with it along crew us - for the rest of the night. It began raining shortly after the tent blew down. 26 July Below Anaktuvuk R. - high winds and rain continued. We finally got the tent back up during a lull in the storm - supported by extra willow poles, guy lines anchored with dead men etc. Winds must be getting up above 30 mph at times. Remained in the tent all day. 27 July Camp #2 - wind and rains, snow, sleet - continued all day. 28 July Camp #3 - storm still blowing, 29 July Below Anaktuvuk - storm abated somewhat in the morning. 1530 - we finally departed camp #2.
