T. Code 1959 General Account 17 June Barrow - spent the day in camp writing letters, field notes and catching up on the local develop- ment. Barry Chikly had arrived the day before. Shanks and Kovanda came in on the plane today. 8 June Barrow to Unmiat - left Barrow via Wien commercial around 1300 - arrived Unmiat around 1400. Spent the rest of the afternoon with George Riedel replacing a truck on the one functional weasel. Phenology - green leaf willows are just leafing out - leaf buds broken June 5 leaves almost unfolded same is true of birch and alder. Alder catkins are large and nearly ready to shed pollen. Felt-leaf willow leaf buds we just beginning to break. A still, partially cloudy day. In ARL group at present are Jim Hendrix, Carroll Douglas, Mike Daniels, Chuck Carson, and Joe Cleghorn. 9 June Unmiat, Alaska - 0800 - went out in weasel and set out traps on lines 1, 3, and 7 (wed hill). Mike Daniels accompanied and helped me. I drove Chuck Carson around to various lakes
