General Account
12 June Peters-Schweiler L.
0900 - checked shrike nest #1 and returned to camp.
0930 - left camp for Whistler Creek, again crossing over the "Mary Range" through the high passes into the Whistler drainage. Arrived in the level of Whistler at 1200. Walked up to the evil of the tall willow zone, 1km above stream and out onto the flats between the two lakes, passing over one of the lateral moraines on the way. Ran the trapline and returned direct across the lake to camp, arriving at 1730.
Weather mostly overcast all day - just a little sunshine between 1100 & 1300. Moderate heavy rain last night and continued drizzle off and on all day. New snow on the higher slopes and peaks around the lakes.
Rhododendron blooming on the slopes - also the purple Pelee lilies. Leaf buds on feathery willows are just pushing out below the catkins.
Harry Brown came down with a prolapsed rectum and had to level him all evening and into the following morning, until the plane could arrive.
