Schwader - about four miles above
the Saddlewocht.
0915 - left the Boulderdin and
started hiking up the rise on the
NW side of Schwader, starting at the
old USGS cache. Crossed the divide
into the head of "Buteo" Creek (the
one where eagles were reported) passing
on west side of Schwader Knob. There
was still quite a lot of snow (60%
cover) on the divide but once into
the creek valley, most of the snow was
gone. We threaded the left limit of
the creek for about a mile, then crossed
over to the right limit and continued
on that side to the bluffs. We reached
the creek bottom first at 1105.
1410 we arrived at the bluffs
where the eagles had been reported.
Atte lunch. Found wrangl legs and
peregrines but no eagles.
1530 - we started back climbing up
on top of the divide that separates
Buteo Creek from the next drainage
to the eastward. We followed this
long sloping ridge all the way
back to the borey Schwader Knob,
