1 June - cant-
to Hobby.
1000 - went with Hobby and
others in a tracked vehicle called
a bombardier down to Schwader
Lake as far as MacLauglin's cabin
and return to camp at 1330. We
stopped at the Wien camp of last
year where they worked to get the
C-46 out of the hole in the ice,
and at several of the recovering station
on the ice of the lakes.
1400 - off to shrike nest for photos
and then across lake to the same
area as yesterday to check again
for shrikes there. Also walked to
the next fan north to look at the
stand of willows there. Returned
to camp at 1745.
Spent the evening preparing skeletons
and writing notes.
Melt water streams are now
running down the sides of the valley
walls.
2 June Peters - Schwader Lakes - Whistler Creek
1000 left camp for an all day hike
over to Whistler Creek, stopping first at
the shrike nest on the west side of Peters.
