T. Cade 1959 General Account 14 May - out - study areas in central marsh, apt us far as the gas well and back through the Bath area. 15 May Barrow - In the afternoon Bill and I went out with Joe Agiash with a D-8 cat to scrape some snow off Central Marsh. Weather during these first two days has been absolutely clear with little wind - some of the most beautiful drop I have ever seen at Barrow. There is a rather heavy accumulation of snow, almost 2 feet deep in places undisturbed by wind. So yet there has been no thaw. According to May the winter was mild - only one hard cold spell in February. The heavy snow should have provided good cover for lemmings. 16 May - Barrow to Drawa River return 0930 - Bill and I departed north upward along the Coomie trail to the Drawa. Weather: overcast and visibility poor. 1230 - at mile 30.8 out of Barrow Village we hit the Drawa, ate lunch. 1300 - continued downriver for about
