General Account
2 September - cord -
3 September - Blaniat - ran traplines and split
rest of log in lab. Blowing snow
storm in the afternoon and evening
but traps not observed. Set traps on
Favor T H A e 4 B.
4 September Uniqat - departed in LVT at 1055
with Kenny Towrak, Pete Sovalike,
Harry Brewer, Joe Agick and John
O'Sullivan. Traveled out few 3 days
along the luvai. At 1113 as soon
as we turned off the road in
the north area, the LVT moved down
on a bank - snow front very deep here.
At 125 we finally got the LVT out
with a "Cat." Passed by the gas
well at 1250. At 1300, we got
stuck again trying to even the
big ditch north of the well. At 1415
we got going again but moved very
slowly through the old lake
beds and finally at 1445 about 2mi
S of the well we gave it up and
returned to Barrow.
Saw 12 gulls, 1 old squaw and
2 snow buntings from the gas well
out. Returned to Barrow 1630.
