1. Coele 1958 General Account September cont- at straight now, and their morning where we set out traps the ground was quite extremely in places and smaller water refrores had ice on them - saved of it 1/4 inch thick. September Meade Re Barrow, Alaska Raw trap lines in the early afternoon. Spent rest of the day in the lab. Weather heavily overcast and cool today. Some ice still standing on tundra ponds. 12 September Barrow - raw trap lines in the morning and spent rest of the day in the lab. Packed up some of the remaining specimens. Barrow to Unalakleet - Took up the traps on to lines this morning. Left at 1345 via Wien with Chester Lampe for Unalakleet to make the second run of the lines there. We arrived at 1445. After considerable bickering, we finally managed to get the eyes of a truck to drive out on Alligator Road. It seems that the Navy has just turned over every last piece of equipment here to Wien - including the ARL jeep. Any way, we set out traps on T12 T3 and carried traps out to T7.
