General Account
September - east-
up the traps on the two transects
down river from the village, 25
more traps were set out along
clickes in the area of "nitre phyllos"
groves. This is designated spot-check #5.
September Meade River to Barrow, Alaska
In the morning Mewl and I took
up the traps from the 100x100 plat,
the 25 spot-check traps, and the
traps on the remaining transect.
The 100 x 100 plat yielded 21 M.
olconyus. The 25 traps yielded
8 of the same.
At 1015 Bobby came in, cure
closed out the camp and left for
Barrow at 1100. Arrived 1138.
Spent the rest of the day skinning
out Microtus .
September Barrow, Alaska -
Mewl and I set out traps on
transects 9, 10, 12, and 5-6 in
the morning. Got the weasel stuck
in a ploy hole in Crystal Marsh.
Took us 45 minutes to work it out.
Although the daytime weather has
been mild at Barrow all during
September, the ground is freezing
