7. Cade 1958 Cluewal Account September - cont - September Meade River - ran the trap lines in the morning. Bobby Fischer flew in with S Steve ... [illegible] Peyton's assistant, to pick up a pump and some other equipment left here by John O'Sullivan. They left around 1230. Took up the traps on the trapper west of the air strip in the early after- noon. Then we set out traps in a new area as follows: an area 100 x 100 feet was chosen within the strip of lush "ryeophyllum" grasses that grew on the terrace between the quillage and the river. This area is highly fertilized by organic matter that has accumulated from the Secman occupation in the vicinity. The grass grasses have high in many places. The grass in this area is still a deep green by contrast with the yellowing con- dition of all other grasses and edge of this locality. 200 traps were placed in the 100 x 100 foot plot - two to each 100 square feet - the traps were placed in windrows only by holes etc. Set out between 1530 & 1630.
