Code 1958 General Account 6 September - boat - 1335 - 2 adult glaucous gulls 1342 - 9 glaucous gulls, 2 of them juveniles. 1350 - entering Mililisktorik River (David says it connects up swiftly with the Kaplab. Hence it would be possible to travel all the way from Admiralty Bay to Wainwright by a continuous inland water route!) 1400 - 6 black bellied plovers in nearly complete winter plumage. 1409 - 4 black bellied plovers - name condition. 1435 - stopping at an outcropping of coal. Look on tundra. Local Dusky geese sign on the upland heath. high cutto polygons & local Lemmings sign on the river terrace adjacent to a bank covered with dwarf willow. Willows forming usual loci for burrows. 1445 - traveling again 1450 - Stop at an old broken down sled - loaded with coal. This is being filled well slowly by the local Eskimos. 1535 - started back to Mesle River village. 1544 - adult arctic loon 1550 3 " " - one shot.
