General Account
September - cont -
From 1700-1830 I walked south
about a mile along the right limit of
the river and back to the transects op-
posite the village. Found one area in
the willow zone along a bank where
there are a lot of old runway and holes-
reminiscent of those made by M. milleus.
No fresh sign here. Tufine also in
this area.
Mostly clear today, a mild, but the
ground was already beginning to freeze
by 2100 yesterday evening.
September Middle River Coalmine - M. Eul and
I took up the traps on the first
four lines and set out traps on
three others. In addition I set
out traps for spot-checking in
four other areas as follows: (1) about
200 yds N of T7 - along the high bank
of the lake. Here there are some high
cites "cut" patterns developed with
troughs 3 ft wide & 2-3 feet deep.
Some of the troughs cut down through
the bank as channels into the lake.
Tussock-beath-dwarf willows is cover
on high cites, lush hedge-groves in troughs.
Numerous old excavations & runways
