1. Code 1958 General Account September - cont - From 1700-1830 I walked south about a mile along the right limit of the river and back to the transects op- posite the village. Found one area in the willow zone along a bank where there are a lot of old runway and holes- reminiscent of those made by M. milleus. No fresh sign here. Tufine also in this area. Mostly clear today, a mild, but the ground was already beginning to freeze by 2100 yesterday evening. September Middle River Coalmine - M. Eul and I took up the traps on the first four lines and set out traps on three others. In addition I set out traps for spot-checking in four other areas as follows: (1) about 200 yds N of T7 - along the high bank of the lake. Here there are some high cites "cut" patterns developed with troughs 3 ft wide & 2-3 feet deep. Some of the troughs cut down through the bank as channels into the lake. Tussock-beath-dwarf willows is cover on high cites, lush hedge-groves in troughs. Numerous old excavations & runways
