F. Code 1958 General Account 8 August - Sable's range (where the granite contact occurs). I removed the mist net from the location in the chain north of the lake to an opening along Contact Creek between two stands of willows. About 1500 a thunderstorm came up, and it rained moderately for about 30 min- utes. Walked up one of the rock stripes above the willow-lined creek, traversed back across the alluvial fans to the Lioborne limestone outcrop, where I had left the shrike's nest dry mistake on the 3rd. Found it. Returned to camp at 2030. August O'Kipilak River - Took a long walk up the river and into the high Country today. Left camp at 1100 and returned 2200. On the way up I set out T4 in the flood plain of the river about a mile up- stream from camp - along an old channel of the river more completely covered with vegetation - mostly of bavens type but also dwarf shrubs - willows and some wet grassy edge areas in the old stream bed. Ground looks good for M. minuatus. I followed up the river to Contact Creek and then up, Contact Creek to the divide between the two lateral branches of the creek. Following
