Cade 1958 General Account 4 August - cont- In the late afternoon I walked around Okfilak Lake. 7 August Okfilak Lake - In and around camp on all three drop, running trap lines and shooting! Ed Sable and his assistant, Ralph Bunnel, came in from their strike camp on the evening of the 6th. Bobby Fischer came in on the evening of the 6th with Bill Kelly, a geologist from U. of Michigan, who is out to check over Ed's problems. On the 7th Thomson and Sherman flew back to Barrow with Bobby and Malcolm and Boron left on a hiking trip across the divide to the Jugs camp. Weather was mostly overcast on the 7th - especially in late evening and early morning but no rain yet. Phenology: the last of the salmon berries are now ripe. Cumbelberries are reaching full ripeness. Willows are turning yellow, Elm to stably losing leaves. Birch just beginning to show some color. 8 August Okfilak Lake - Spent the morning writing up notes.
