T. Code 1958 24 July Colville River General Account the Kalamazoo cut into the main current and off down river. We neglected to move it before leaving it in the water to return for our goods. As we were on gut is land, we could not immediately get to shore to follow the drifting boat. It soon disappeared around a bend in the river. We managed to wade across the left channel of the river and were fortunate enough to find the boat grounded about 1/2 mile below camp but on the opposite side of the main stream. While Paul remained to watch the boat, I returned to camp for life jackets, boots, and oars. The each put on a life jacket and took one oar and then swam across the river to the boat. The current was strong, and we drifted about 1/4 mile downriver before we got across. Then we paddled the boat back across the river and pulled it up along the left limit bank to camp. We got back into camp with the boat at 1700. At 1915 we were loaded and rowed the river to investigate the plugwink.
