General Account
22 July
Colville River
the understorm was approaching, so we
unloaded the boat, covered the goods with
it and got ourselves under a tarp to wait
out the spin. We slept until about 1700,
at which time the sky was clearing,
after brief heavy downpouring. We ate
dinner and then hiked crew to the bluffs,
where there were two pairs of roughleps only
1/4 mile apart. At 2205 we were
loaded again and moved on down
along the bluffs to the Peregines area.
Stopped at 2215. Departed 2320 -
at 2330 we passed by the upper
Killik's bend bluff, then the middle,
and we stopped to camp at 2365
on a bar opposite the lower Killik
bend bluff, where we saw roughleps
and peregines. Total travel time
today = 95 minutes.
23 July
Colville River- We slept dry last night,
at 1130 we crossed the river to the roughly
next. Then up to the peregine's area. At
1355 we grew off down river, Passed
the Killik River at 1412. At 1430 we
stopped by the series of little cut groves
behind a slough - first on the right limit
below the Killik (where guys rested last year).
