T. Cade 1956 General Account 25 June - Meade River will come in handy, since an error was made in our food list, and we were left in the field short supplied on staples such as meats and vegetables. After dinner, around 2000, we waved across the river and set out traps on T-6, which is situated in the cross railroads growing along the river. 26 June - Meade River Coal Mine - Went out at 1000 to check trap lines. No catch. Returned to wannigan at 1135. Then went across the river to check T-6 - 1200-1230. At 1330 I went walking southwestward from the village and made a circle around the lake country and back along the brink of the river. Returned at 1700. Covered about 3 miles. At 2000 I went out to view T-728 again while Brock went across the river to view T-6. Returned 2130. Weather intermittently clear and cloudy - clear mostly from 1200 to 1700. Thunder clouds and rain in the distance northward and westward in the late evening. Mosquitoes quite bothersome today. Many insects are out.
