Cade 1957 General Account 28 July Pitt Point Federal Electric puts out a monthly "news" magazine on the decolore - "Sleutine Polar Echoes," The Sleutine Dept., Federal Electric Corp. Route 17, Lodi, New Jersey. Editor: John P. Pynch, -100 some good info & pictures, 29 July Pitt Point 0820 out to T1, then over to T2 and following along the west reed covered lake at 0900 paralleling the Long Road - down to the river. The lake bed is most interesting vegetatively as it is still in a very early reed stage - with mostly pioneer forbs and grasses occurring. Apparently the lower end of the lake was enclosed by river action, with melting of an ice lens, anyway there is a narrow break in a 15-20 foot slide at deep end of lake and all the water draining into the river. Hard to tell how long ago this was but it is relatively recent as far as vegetation is concerned. There were signs of recent farming activity all over the lake bed, even though the ground is only ca 50% covered by vegetation. Polypurification of
