Code 1957 General Account 27 July, Pitt Point road" which goes out to the river. See Maher's map of Pitt Point. Between 1240 and 1725 I walked completely around the site - starting out in NW direction out beyond the tanks on the coast and back along the inland side of the lake just N of airstrip, then cut toward the dump in the "Bachelor and" area of Maher's map; then turned S a warp paralleling the river - back to the 3 barrel U.S. worker east of the airstrip, along the N edge of the large "chained" lake and back toward the site coming in on the Long Road. Cubs and jaggaws were observed on their excursion and the general condition of the ground and lemming sign were noted. At 1930 I went out to transect #2 (see Maher's map) and set out traps. While in that area I also located 3 young cubs in nest #3. They went over to T1 and set out the traps there. Returned to camp at 2215. The sky was partly cloudy all day, tending to become more and more overcast in the evening.
